A short ride on the MTR to Diamond Hill, gets you within a stones throw to Chi Lin Nunnery & Nan Lian Garden. Both of these are free to go into. It’s well signposted from the station.
The garden and nunnery complex are a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of busy Hong Kong. It’s nestled within the high rises but it’s tranquil atmosphere makes it seem a world away.
Well worth the hour or two out of your day to visit.
There is a vegetarian restaurant and snack bar. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there but it looked appealing from the menu.
I just wrote a post on Mui Wo in Lantau, so your post evoked such lovely memories for me! 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
I look forward to reading your post – when I have a little more internet time 🙂
