At the top of a steep hill overlooking Mandalay is the Su Taung Pyi Pagoda. I have often joked that I wish these places would put in escalators and low and behold, here, they have!

Many people, seemed to be walking up the hill to the Pagoda, we got a truck most of the way and then onto the escalators. Call me lazy but it was a nice ride at the end of a long day for our last stop to see Mandalay from Pagoda at sunset.

Entrance fee is … $US5 – no surprise there, everywhere seems to be $US5 so that makes it easy.  As always, you can’t wear shoes and socks into the pagoda.
