Grandad’s WWII Diary – British War Cemetery – Jerusalem (photos taken 1942)

In my Grandfather’s War Diary entry from Friday August 21 1942, he visits Jerusalem, Bethlehem & the British War Cemetery.  He said “NZ paid for decorating of chapel.  Some wonderful mosaic work & really a credit.”

He most likely took (or purchased) these photos on this visit that day.

The comments under the photos are his own words from the backs of the photos.

For more information about this cemetery and the history, you might like to visit the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
