Grandad’s WWII Diary – Photos of Jerusalem 1942

In my Grandfather’s War Diary entry from Friday August 21 1942, he visits Jerusalem & Bethlehem.  He said “… saw Wailing Wall then to Jerusalem and went through the million dollar American YMCA – beautiful building and grounds.”

He most likely took (or purchased) these photos on this visit that day.

The comments under the photos are his own words from the backs of the photos.

"Good Samaritan Inn" on road between Jerusalem and Jericho - believed to be an actual spot where the Samaritan did his "Deed of Mercy"

Note – as per a reader’s comment, these are Jewish women, not Muslim.
