Friday September 18

Day 531

Paraded in morning.  Trip to Haifa Garrison Club at 2.30PM.  Received afternoon tea then attended a concert – leaving again at 7.30PM.

Saturday September 19

Day 532

Day mostly spent on beach.  Saw picture Boom Town at night with Clark Gable.

Sunday September 20

Day 533

Church parade then swam & wrote.

Monday September 21

Day 534

On Medical inspection again graded B1.  Finished treatment – just exercise on beach.

Tuesday September 22

Day 535

Began guard duty – 24 hours on then 24 hours off.  On No.3 Post by beach – do no guard – simply a racket (meaning to enjoy oneself socially).

Wednesday September 23

Day 536

Relieved from guard at 8.30PM – rest of day free.  Wrote in morning then spent afternoon on beach.

Thursday September 24

Day 537

Began guard duty at 8.30AM – stayed by tent all morning then on beach for afternoon – no guard done – great racket.

Friday September 25

Day 538

Another free day from 8.30AM.  Walked through some surrounding groves – another fortnight (two weeks) or so oranges will be ready.  Charlie Samson(?) returned to Maadi.

 Saturday September 26

Day 539

Cleaning out huts during morning then swam – leg periodically better.
