The historic center of Arequipa, Peru is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its history, scenery and cultural sites make it a popular destination and with good reason. The scenery is spectacular with the snow-covered volcanoes and the Andes mountains surrounding the city. With an mix of interesting architectural styles and an easily walkable historic district, it’s a fascinating city to explore.
Arguably the main square of Arequipa, the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by buildings made of a white volcanic stone is likely to be the main tourist attraction. A short distance away, I also recommend visiting the Santa Catalina Monastery if you have time.
between you and Yvonne and leggypeggy and Andrew I have learned more about the world in one year than the rest of my life.
But thats the whole point to blogs isn’t it? To share what you know and to learn from others 🙂
5 agree but there are some that I have given away because they are pushing a very distinct barrow.
Likewise, I usually follow anyone that follows me, but I confess I have unfollowed a couple that are doing just that.
