This is the second part of the photos from a produce market we visited near Bagan. As I mentioned in the previous post, the markets in Myanmar were a real highlight for us so I couldn’t resist doing a second post with these beautiful photos (or at least they were before I shrunk them and reduced the quality for posting here).
So if you didn’t see the previous post, it’s here. You may also like my previous post about an amazing flower market near Mandalay.
Nice photos
The cart in the last photo is similar to carts in my country but our carts are bigger and closed from the back
thanks a lot
I enjoyed the journey
I remember seeing those carts in Egypt! I will have to find my Egypt holiday photos sometime. They were in a pre-digital era so I have them in an album somewere. 🙂 Glad you liked the post.
It appears, from containers, etc., that some fruit items were shipped in. Did you find that to be the case?
I know a lot of produce was grown locally, I’ll have a future post coming up about the floating islands of Inle Lake where a lot of produce is grown. I also know they export a lot to China by road.

These photographs are beautiful! So colorful!
Yes it was a complete riot of colours – exactly how we should be eating too, not boring beige food 🙂
I know it is not the same but I couldn’t help thinking of the Victoria Market in Melbourne. It is full of atmosphere and colour and to hear the Aussies and the Greeks and the Italians and the Vietnamese going hell for leather it makes me proud to be an Aussie as all the Greeks and Italians and Vietnamese are.
Love this statement 🙂 We had Vietnamese food for dinner tonight, the woman serving had a very Kiwi accent and may well have been NZ born, unlike myself.
Gorgeous produce – makes me want to cook something from everything pictured!
Me too – its just all so colourful!
Oh my god. I can’t even handle this
