In my Grandfather’s diary entry on Thursday 29 April 1943, when we was on leave in Alexandria, he wrote of visiting Ras el-Tin Palace in Alexandria. This photo was possibly taken on this day. The caption to the photo is what he had written on the back of the photo.

It is one of the official residences for a serving President of Egypt. Under the Muhammad Ali Dynasty of Egypt and Sudan, it was a royal palace. Ras el-Tin Palace is the oldest royal Egyptian palace still in use. “

I would like to ask for permission to use the photograph to compare it to one my father took in 1932 while traveling through Egypt. It is a photograph of the Delta Barrage at Al Qanater taken in 1942. I appreciate your consideration.
