Breakfast 8AM. Rest of morning off. Did some washing. All called out on a special parade. 12.30PM. Kept waiting there until 1PM then told to have all our gear packed by two o’clock.
As we were shifting out of Maadi to do guard of Tura Caves. Saw Jack Wyatt asked him to see Keith and tell him about it. When waiting to depart, saw Billy Gill he had been looking for me. He said he would see Keith.
First time we have full pack on. Pretty tough and hot. Was transported to Tura Caves in lorries. Seemed to be about 20 miles from Maadi. Followed Nile most of way. Lovely trip. Arrived and went on guard immediately. Tura Caves Masara. cut all and into hill would be hard to pick up from air. Good quarters. On duty 2 hours, off 6 hours. Good time.
