Throwback Thursday – Disneyland’s Parade of Dreams

With Disneyland beginning the 60th anniversary celebration, I thought it would be fun to highlight some photos from the 50th.   We were lucky enough to visit Disneyland a few days after the 50th celebration kicked off in 2005.  With it came the new Parade of Dreams that ran through to the end of 2008.

I’m a fan of the Disney parades, I love the colour, the fantasy and the beautiful costumes the performers wear.  How they keep smiling along the parade route the entire time is completely beyond me.

There were 8 large floats and dozens of performers and characters in this spectacularly, colourful performance.  Some people say skip the parade, and do attractions instead.  While I would hae said that when I was younger, I now make more time for the parade which is often a highlight of the day.

  1. I haven’t been to Disneyland in 15 years! I went the first time to the original in 1972 when you bought a booklet of tickets and got two “E-Ticket” ride coupons (Haunted House, Matterhorn). Explaining what an e-ticket ride is now days is too old school for many people. The photos are great!

  2. I have been to Disneyland countless times (I only live like a half hour away from it) and yes I consider myself a Disney Nerd. I love that place. I would have to say that they World of Color is my favorite, but I am hoping to see the new Light Parade when I make it to the Diamond Celebration in a couple of months. DisneyWorld is on my bucketlist of things to go to.
