Mum bought some slides back from New Zealand. Over the last week I have converted them to digital format. So for the first time, after 35 years we can actually now see these photos. This is the second set which feature the 25th Anniversary parade. Please forgive the somewhat blurry photos – we are spoilt nowadays … Continue reading
Mum bought some slides back from New Zealand. Over the last week I have converted them to digital format. So for the first time, after 35 years we can actually now see these photos. I’m in the white t-shirt, my brother is the little boy in the red t-shirt and Mum is the woman in the … Continue reading
These little 32% lead crystal & 24k gold plated figurines I bought some years ago online. Originally they were $125 each (according to the price stickers) and I paid $25 for the lot. Each measures about 4cm tall. The boxes say made in Austria, I believe from a company called Lencia. They were probably made in the … Continue reading
Sitting on the window sill in my kitchen is this ceramic Pooh trinket container. I adore him, he just looks so happy sitting there storing my odds and ends.
Most of the items in my Disney collection are Disney authorised and approved, however a friend of mine who got a new woodworking tool of some type made this Mickey Mouse for me. Isn’t it cool? You can’t see in the photo but he has a tail too.
Although I’m not a massive Alice in Wonderland movie fan, I do love the bright, colourful artwork from the movie and of course one of my doglet’s is called Alice. Therefore I couldn’t resist these Alice in Wonderland plates which I got a few years ago at Disneyland. We have put them in the wall in our … Continue reading
I confess, not only do a I own 14 weeks worth of socks, I also have far too many mugs. 🙂 These four Frozen mugs I got on our last trip to Florida. I got them at T.J. Maxx or Ross Dress for Less so they were only a couple of dollars each, rather than … Continue reading
I have a real love of the various tins available in the stores at Tokyo Disneyland and I have shown some previously on this previous post. This particular Winnie the Pooh theme Cookie tin, I picked up at a Salvation Army store in Queenstown at the weekend. It was only $NZ2, and while I’m trying to declutter … Continue reading
This week’s “My Disney Collection” item(s) are a couple of glass plates souvenir plates from Disneyland. I got these both second hand so I’m not sure what era they come from, however this first one I was amazed to see at the Disney Archives on display when we were there in July. I bought it … Continue reading
This week’s “My Disney Collection” item, like week’s item is also fairly new to my collection, I got it recently via an online auction and paid $NZ7 for it including postage (less than $US5). Its a fairly heavy metal bottle opener and I think it likely was a souvenir from the late 1980s. Interestingly I … Continue reading
If you didn’t see my previous post about World of Color, be sure to check it out. This video is the Frozen section of the World of Color show which I recorded on our trip to Disneyland’s 60th celebration in July.
For Disneyland’s 60 celebration, Disneyland changed the World of Color show on the Disney California Adventure lagoon to be more about Walt Disney. The new show debuted in May and is titled Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney! This rendition of the show is narrated by Neil Patrick Harris and while I like him as a … Continue reading
One of the new attractions that was announced for the Disneyland 60th Anniversary event was the new Paint the Night parade. I was definitely not disappointed when we saw this while visiting for the 60th celebration. It was just beautiful and the music pays homage to the Baroque Hoedown used for the old Mainstreet Electrical parade. … Continue reading
One of the new attractions that was announced for the Disneyland 60th Anniversary event was the new Paint the Night parade. The Mainstreet Electrical parade hadn’t run at Disneyland since 1996 and fans had long been calling for this parade to return. After I had seen the older SpectroMagic at Walt Disney World, and comparing it more … Continue reading
Earlier this year Disney California Adventure Park re-imagined the old Condor Flats area into the new Grizzly Peak Airfield. I was looking back through my old photos of Disneyland to show you before and after and couldn’t find any of this area. It used to be very grey and concrete with very few photographically interesting areas. … Continue reading
