One of the new attractions that was announced for the Disneyland 60th Anniversary event was the new Paint the Night parade.

The Mainstreet Electrical parade hadn’t run at Disneyland since 1996 and fans had long been calling for this parade to return.  After I had seen the older SpectroMagic at Walt Disney World, and comparing it more recently to the Mainstreet Electrical parade at Tokyo Disneyland, I was highly anticipating this new parade which apparently is similar to the Hong Kong Disneyland parade, also called Paint the Night.

I was definitely not disappointed when we saw this while visiting for the 60th celebration.  Please excuse my photos as they simply don’t do the colours and lights justice.  It was just beautiful and the music pays homage to the Baroque Hoedown used for the old Mainstreet Electrical parade.

Well done Disneyland, a fantastic addition and I look forward to seeing it on future trips to California.
