I’ll be doing a bunch of posts over the next few weeks about Disneyland’s 60th celebration but thought I’d start with cake…
This amazing and huge castle sculpture below, was in the lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel. At around 1 metre tall (about 3 foot), it consists of (US measurements stolen from the sign) 8 pounds of marshmallows, 54 pounds of rice cereal, 30 pounds of white chocolate, 40 pounds of gum paste, 15 pounds of fondant and 6 hidden Mickeys.
But disappointingly, we couldn’t eat it.
However there were edible cupcakes aplenty and these were being handed out to park guests. I’d say they were free but that’s not entirely accurate, they were included with your park admission… 🙂
Also hotel guests were able to help themselves when returning to the hotel in the afternoon to this buffet style table full of celebration cupcakes.
The sweet shop on Main Street at Disneyland had this fun display in the window. Not quite cake but cute nonetheless.
Happy 60th Birthday Disneyland 🙂

Actually its an old one but wait until you see the light up mouse ears! 🙂
Are you reliving your childhood or is this just a bit of total craziness?
I am completely Disney obsessed! No apologies for that as we all have our own quirks. 🙂
So when do we see a post on your favourite memorabilia collections?
I really do need to do some posts about my Disney stuff 🙂
