Saturday June 19

Day 804

Usual morning – then bathing during afternoon.  Played Housie in evening.

Sunday June 20

Day 805

Up rather early, too warm being in bed.  Missed swimming as too many for the truck – transport short some being at Suez for Hospital Ship.   Usual little walk at night.

Monday June 21

Day 806

Today new Colonel arrived taking place of Spencer who just died.  Swimming in afternoon.  Defences along Canal being strengthened greatly – many boats passing through.  Supposed to have been pictures in evening but cancelled as operation went into Hospital.

Tuesday June 22

Usual day spent at Canal – pictures during evening “The Mortal Storm” quite good but not up to standard of book.

Wednesday June 23

Day 808

Swimming at Canal in afternoon – many boats passing through to Port Said – seems likely some big move is near  Stroll along Sweet Water Canal in evening.  A.P.R.s left at 10 o’clock for ???.

Thursday June 24

Day 809

Today same as others.  Played House at night after which walked to Church Army.  Received ??? from Marg.  Letter from Jim.

(Marg was his girlfriend Margaret – who he married after the war – my Grandmother.  Jim was Marg’s brother).
