June 13 - 18

…and others here from Maadi – good old yarns (stories) with them – little guard done.  W Leathem now sergeant.  Evening had short stroll along Sweet Water Canal.

Monday June 14

Day 799

Transferred to day duty.  Guards of entrances, searching trucks.  Missed usual swim.  Evening several of us went to Sweet Water Canal fishing but were unsuccessful.  Afterwards called into Church Army for tea & cake.

Tuesday June 15

Day 800

Again doing day duty.  Able to have swim – returning to duty after evening mess.  Naafi Concert Party at night.  Really good items, several girl artists.

Wednesday June 16

Day 801

Did one shift of day duty – then Sergeants cancelled picquet.  Swimming – free night.  Played house at night.

Thursday June 17

Day 802

Morning spent in washing clothes.  Swimming in afternoon.  Convert Party from RAF Station at night.  Had been here on earlier occasion but very good.  Guard duty 10-12PM.

Friday June 18

Day 803

Swimming cancelled today on account of receiving vaccination so played cards and slept.  In evening took another stroll along Canal going in opposite direction that is towards the drome.
